All you need to know about the Law, what was its purpose ? are we still under the law? the effects of being under the Law are going to be exhausted here! we are going to dig into the scriptures and see what it says about the law nowadays! *

When the bible talks about the law,its either refering to the whole bible, the pentetuech (genesis ~deuteronomy) or the 10 commandments, here we are going to be dealing specificaly with the LAW OF MOSES (recorded in the pentateuch). *

The are 3 sections of the law : [1] THE MORAL LAW- wich is the 10 commandments wich deals with behaviour. ***[2] CIVIC LAW-wich deals with judgement when someone broke the moral law and lastly *[3] ORDINANCES- wich deals with ceremonials, for purification, atonement etc. *

What was the reason of the Law to pe passed? galatians 3:19 '' What then, was the purpose of the law? it was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come. *

The law was added according to the verse above,so that means it has a place where it starts and where it ends. lets look at john 1:17 '' For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. this verse is showing us that we are under another dispensation,we are no longer under the law. *

If your read exodus chapter 19,you'll see how the Law started, they were delivered by grace from egypt (vs4),They were given a choice whether to continue in grace, the unmerrited favour undeserved or to choose the law, (vs.5-8) but they chose the LAW, verse 6 reads, we will do everything the LORD has said *

God's approach to the change, he started setting law, and that he will come a diffrent way, in a dense cloud, limits were set between man and God,the were not allowed to touch Mount Sinai, the incident was frightening that Moses himself was afraid, hebrews 12:21 says 'Moses said,I am trembling with fear.' *

The Bible says, all those who rely on observing the law are under a curse (see Galatians 3:10) . it also says that those who obey the law but break one are guilty of breaking the whole law.(James 2:10). *

Peter in the book of Acts 15:10 refering to Some men who went to the Gentiles teaching them to be circumcised, and obey the law of Moses, He says in verse 10 'why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of the disciples a yoke that neither we nor our fathers have been able to bear?' HE REFERES TO THE LAW AS A YOKE. *

Why? you might ask. Becoz no one can be righteous by observing the law (see topic on RIGHT-STANDING with God ) Instead you are alienating yourself from Christ (the yoke destroying burden removing power.) Galatians 5:4. People who are saying its an obligation to obey the law (dont eat pigs, dont wear pants, observe sabbath and so forth) are SEPARATING YOU FROM THE ANOINTING, From the power that will make you live salvation. *

Romans 7:5 says, '...sinful passions aroused by the law...' You see, it appears to be a wise thing to rely on observing the law, but it can't restrain sensual indulgence.(see= Colossians.2:21-23). *

Instead of fighting the desire to sin. The law cultivates it, the ' DON'T's ' makes you want to experiment what they prohibit you to do. it makes you sin conscious (see=Romans 3:20).It brings condemination (2Corinthians 3:9).And it make it impossible to follow God, its a yoke, that disturbes ,troubles and subvert people souls (see. Acts.15:24) *

We are not under the Law, we have died to the Law (see. Romans 7:4). The Anointed and His Anointing is the end of the Law (see. Romans 10:4).We are not under the law. *

The is verse, that people whole preach law likes, in Matthew 5:17 where Jesus says 'Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come destroy, but to fulfil' (kjv). How did Jesus Christ fulfiled the law? *

mrsms 20.10.08 - 04:05pm
To answer that lets go to Romans 13:8-10, In a nutshel it says To love your neighbor as yourself is the fulfiment of the LAW. Jesus once said, No greater love than this, that I lay dowm my life for my friends (see.John.15:13).=He fulfiled the whole law by LOVING US. SO TO LOVE ANOTHER PERSON is to FULFIL THE LAW. *
