A steward is described in detail in the story of Luke 16, and more so is the example of Joseph in Potiphar's household. Everything that Potiphar had was entrusted into the hands of Joseph. Since Jesus is our substitute [He was made sin (us), so that we might be righteous (Him)], the time we have is not ours but His, the body we have is not ours but His, the money and possessions we have are not ours but His. For you bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirits which are Gods. 1Corinth.6:20. You dont belong to yourself, you belong to God. You have to be faithful with what belongs to God. And if you have not been faithful in that which is another man's (Gods), who shall give you that which is your own? Luke 16:12. For you are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. Colossians 3:3. You see, how you handle the time that God gave you in this earth will determine the eternity that belongs to you. How you handle the money that God gave you in this earth will determine the true riches you will recieve belonging to you, etc, etc.
Then there are entrustments that God commits to His servants (Apostles, Prophets, Teachers, Evangelists, and Pastors). Faithfulness is required from these servants. Take for an example the apostle Paul, God made him a steward of the gospel of grace. God entrusted him with the revelation of the gospel of grace. REMEMBER!! To whom much is given much will be required. *
